Where we ate:
The Floridian – Highly recommend for a delicious dinner. Reservations accepted. They also offer a great kids’ menu!
A1A Burrito Works Taco Shop (multiple locations) – Offers a variety of tacos, including great vegetarian options. Don’t miss the UFOβit’s fun and big enough to share.
Osprey Tacos – All the tacos we tried were fantastic. Jonathan preferred the sweet/spicy tofu and potato tacos over his steak tacos. Old Coast Ales is next door, so you can enjoy both in one outing!
Pizza Time – Amazing pizza and open late night. It was so hard choosing a slice, but I went with the Burrata Pizza. They are cash only, so come prepared π
Columbia Restaurant -Not as good as my visit a decade ago, but still decent. However, Jonathan recommends skipping the “El Combo de Cuba.” The tomato salad was really simple, but really good. They offer a kids menu.
Where we Got Desserts
The Tipsy Duck Parlor – A fun little Rubber Duck themed spot that offers cream sodas, sodas, hard sodas in any flavor imaginable. They also have “ducktails” (aka fun cocktails), wine and beer.
Cousteau’s Waffle and Milkshake Bar – Yummy spot with Belgian desert waffles. We tried Unpaid Intern and Hennessey (S’Mores)
May Day Ice Cream – This Ice Cream spot came highly recommended and it did not disappoint. There are locations downtown and at the beach. We shared Parent Trap and Cookie Crush (both are Oreo Flavors)
The Hyppo Gourmet Ice Pops – Gourmet fruit ice pops that come in a variety flavors like watermelon, blueberry cheesecake, champagne mango, cantaloupe and black pepper. You also have the option to dip your pop in chocolate.
Parlor Doughnuts – This was technically breakfast one morning, but we will categorize these under desserts. These are the best kind of donuts…the layered, croissant-like ones (topped with a variety of items). Jonathan and Sienna came back with 6 flavors including S’mores and Churro.
Where we drank:
The Tipsy Duck Parlor – As mentioned, a unique spot for “Ducktails”, wine and beer amid a duck-themed decor. Sienna loved this place!
Bog Brewing Company – This is probably my favorite brewery in St. Augustine. They have a Mexican food truck onsite daily (we grabbed a snack our last trip in Dec 2023).
Old Coast Ales – OK, this may actually be my favorite brewery in St. Augustine…especially since you can grab tacos from Osprey next door. You can order tacos and enjoy them at the brewery, and that is exactly what we did.
Dog Rose Brewing – A walkable brewery from downtown. It has a pretty relaxed vibe and it looked like they were having a band play later in the day.
River & Fort (rooftop) – We visited the rooftop for a pre-dinner cocktail. They offer a limited food menu compared to the restaurant downstairs. Next time we visit, we plan to definitely dine at the restaurant.
Other Fun Activities:
St. Augustine Alligator Farm Zoological Park – This was our second visit, but Sienna’s first. The park is compact with lots to see, including alligator feedings if you time it right.
Ripley’s Believe It or Not! – Sienna enjoyed it! Can you believe it…or not π
Fiesta Falls Miniature Golf – Outdoor Putt Putt course in St. Augustine Beach. It was quiet during our afternoon visit. They also have ice cream and other treats for sale. We unfortunately did not finish the full 18 holes, as someone was having a bad day (and it wasn’t me or Jonathan)
Beach – The beach allows cars in certain areas, but they were sparse during our visit. The waves were decent (which Jonathan and Sienna prefer), though it was a bit too chilly for swimming in early April.
